Delete Your Account & Data

Lumo gives you full control over your data. You can delete individual items, wipe all financial data, or permanently remove your entire account at any time from within the app.

Delete Your Account

Permanently remove your Lumo account and all associated data.

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. All your financial data, transaction history, uploaded receipts, budget settings, and your sign-in credentials will be permanently erased. We recommend exporting your data before proceeding.

Open the Lumo app

Launch the Lumo app on your Android device and make sure you are signed in to the account you want to delete.

Go to Settings

Tap the Settings icon in the bottom navigation bar of the app.

Open Account Management

Scroll down to find the "Account Management" option (marked in red) and tap on it. This opens the account management screen.

Tap "Delete Account"

In the Danger Zone section, tap the "Delete Account" card. This will open a confirmation dialog.

Review what will be deleted

The confirmation screen will show you everything that will be permanently removed: all transactions and spending history, income streams and budget settings, all loans and payment records, preferences and app settings, and your sign-in account.

Acknowledge and confirm

Check the box that says "I understand this is permanent and cannot be undone," then tap Continue. On the final screen, tap "Delete my account" to begin the process.

Wait for completion

A progress screen will show the deletion steps: removing your data, deleting your account record, and signing you out. Once complete, you will see a confirmation and be returned to the sign-in screen.

Data permanently deleted when you delete your account:

  • All transactions
  • Uploaded receipts & images
  • Loans & loan payments
  • Income streams
  • Payment history
  • Budget & spending preferences
  • Notifications
  • Prediction & analytics cache
  • Device sessions & push tokens
  • Your sign-in credentials

Delete Images & Receipts

Remove uploaded receipt photos and images from individual transactions.

Images and receipts in Lumo are attached to individual transactions. To remove an image, you edit or delete the transaction it belongs to. Deleting a transaction permanently removes all attached images and receipt data.

Option A: Remove an image from a transaction

Open the transaction

From your transaction list or dashboard, tap on the transaction that has the image you want to remove.

Edit the transaction

Tap the edit button to open the transaction editor.

Remove the receipt image

Find the attached receipt or image and tap the remove or delete button on it. This removes only the image while keeping the transaction record intact.

Save your changes

Tap Save to confirm. The image is permanently deleted from Lumo's servers.

Option B: Delete the entire transaction (including images)

Find the transaction

Navigate to the transaction that contains the image you want to delete.

Delete the transaction

Swipe left on the transaction or open it and tap the delete option. Confirm when prompted.

Confirm deletion

The transaction and all attached images and receipt data are permanently removed.

Option C: Delete all images at once

To remove all uploaded images and receipts at once, use the Delete All Data option described below. This deletes every transaction and all attached files in a single operation.


Delete All Data (Keep Your Account)

Wipe all financial data while keeping your account active for future use.

This option removes all your financial data but keeps your Lumo account active. You can start fresh without needing to create a new account. Your sign-in credentials and account profile are preserved.

Open the Lumo app

Launch Lumo and ensure you are signed in.

Go to Settings

Tap the Settings icon in the bottom navigation bar.

Open Account Management

Scroll down and tap "Account Management" to open the data management screen.

Tap "Delete All Data"

In the Danger Zone section, tap the "Delete All Data" card. This option is only available if you have data in your account.

Review and acknowledge

The confirmation dialog will list what will be deleted: all transactions, all loans and loan payments, all income streams, and all payment history. Check the acknowledgment box and tap Continue.

Confirm final deletion

On the final confirmation screen, tap "Delete all data." A progress bar will show the deletion progress. Once complete, you will be returned to the settings screen with a clean account.

Data permanently deleted:

  • All transactions
  • Uploaded receipts & images
  • Loans & loan payments
  • Income streams
  • Payment history
  • Notifications
  • Spending predictions & cache
  • Usage tracking data

Preserved: Your account profile and sign-in credentials remain active.
